10. Installation of the Storage Manager Client
10.1 Configurations Offered by the Storage Manager Client
The Storage Manager client, which runs on a PC connected by a LAN to a management server,
offers users monitoring and operating procedures through graphical user interfaces (GUI). The
Storage Manager client offers the following two types of GUI.

Web-based GUI
„
Windows-based GUI
This manual documents installation methods for the Web-based GUI.
If it is necessary to distinguish them specifically in the text, the term “Storage Manager client
(Web GUI)” is used to indicate just the former and the term “Storage Manager client (Win GUI)”
is used to indicate just the latter.
The Storage Manager client runs only in a Windows environment.
For details, refer to the “Storage Manager Installation Guide”.
In an environment in which the Storage Manager client (Web GUI) is running, if a
product that runs using a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) has already been
installed, they can coexist and operate only if the environment conforms to the
condition below.
- The latest versions of everything within the JRE that is installed in the
environment in question must be supported by both the Storage Manager
client (Web GUI) and the other product.
If this condition is not met, the Storage Manager client (Web GUI) or the other
product must be operated on another machine.
