What happens if, in Figure 11 ‐ 1 , the GSU towers themselves have radios communicating as
shown in Figure 11 ‐ 2 ?
Consider GSU 1 and GSU 2: Both collocated towers transmit and receive simultaneously.
However, the radios communicating at GSU 1 and GSU 2 must transmit and receive in turn
according to the scheme in marked “Normal Phase” in Figure 11 ‐ 3 . This is an impossible
situation, if all the links must send and receive together. It is further complicated by adding a
third and further sites as shown.
