Plug in the 3.5mm cable supplied with one end
going into the Rig port on the SideKar Plus and the
other end going to the ACC1 port on the KX3.
Note:
You must leave the ACC2 port plugged in
with the KX3-to-KXPA100 adapter
’s keying cable
(the smaller 2.5mm TRS plug).
Turn on KX3
Turn on SideKar / SideKar Plus and let it connect
Turn on KXPA100 amplifier manually using the
“On/Off” switch on the front of the KXPA100. You
will no longer be controlling the amplifier using the
PA mode On/Off from the KX3 menu.
Note:
Pressing the ATU button on the KX3 will still
tune the KXPA100 amplifier as before.
For the KX2 with KXPA100 amplifier,
start with the
KX2 connected to the amplifier as described in the
Elecraft manual using the additional KX2ACBL adapter
connected to the same KX3-to-KXPA100 adapter cable
setup used as described in the aforementioned KX3
amplifier set up section. The KX2ACBL adapter is
needed because the KX2 has only one ACC port.
Start with the KX2 connected to the KXPA100
amplifier using the KX2ACBL adapter connected to
the KX3-to-KXPA100 adapter at one end and the
other end plugged into the ACC port of the KX2.
Unplug the 3.5mm serial data from the KX2ACBL
adapter. Then, plug one end of the cable for the
SideKar Plus into the Rig port of the SideKar Plus
and the other end into the KX2ACBL adapter port
you had just disconnected.
Be sure to leave the keying cable from the KX3-to-
KXPA100 adapter plugged into the 2nd port (the
2.5mm TRS) of the KX2ACBL adapter.
