Creating or Editing a Rig Macro:
From SideKar version 2.3.0 and later, the ability create and edit
messages and rig macros from your PC or Mac has been
added by using the QRPworks Message Management Utility
program.
It is available free on the QRPworks.com website (click on
Support). It allows you to define 200 messages/macros in 10
named sets, with each set containing 20 messages/macros.
You can save the sets on your PC or Mac and download a
selected set of 20 messages to the SideKar all at once.
Alternatively, you can use the SideKar keyboard as follows:
-
In the normal mode (Status LED is off), press
F12
or
ALT-Z
(added version 2.6.5). The LED will now be
flashing slowly indicating you are in the Edit mode. The
screen will prompt you to press a key
F1
through
F10 or
Alt-F1
through
Alt-F10.
o
If no macro has been stored previously, you will see
<empty
….just start typing>
o
If a message or macro has been previously stored, it
will be displayed. Edit or add any additional text.
See the “
Editing a Stored Text Message or Macro
section in this manual for a list of editing options.
Macros must start with a period (
.
) as the very first
character. This tells the SideKar it is a rig macro
and not a text message.
