 11.4 GAS CONNECTION

1. Connect to the fuel inlet, ½” NPT Male connection (see Figure 11-5 on 70)

Note: The PowerGen generates slight vertical vibration while in operation due to the

movement of the Stirling engine. If the use of flexible metal-sheathed pipe or flexible

expansion loop is not acceptable please contact Qnergy technical support to discuss other

options.

2. Use a flexible metal-sheathed hose (minimum 1’ flex hose) or 1/4” – 1/2” tubing with

expansion loop (taking into account the pressure drop to maintain minimum supply pressure)

to connect the PowerGen fuel inlet to the ½” NPT (male) threaded pipe. Be sure to use

appropriate pipe sealant during installation.

3. Use a leak indicator spray to check the gas connection for leakage.

Note: The complete gas installation, including any gas meter, must be inspected, checked for

leaks, and purged in accordance with local regulations.

 Figure 11-5 Gas Connection Location

.

WARNING:

Danger of death by escaping gas is

possible if the gas connection is not made

properly. All local regulations for fuel supply must

be observed. The gas connection should be made

by a certified qualified technician. The installer

must verify that the supplied gas is identical to the

gas specified on the data plate of the PowerGen.
