5.2.9 CHANGE OF PARKING BRAKE CABLE AND ADJUSTMENT OF CABLE

TENSION

Adjustment of parking brake cable tension

(1) brake crank mechanism, (2) brake cable I, (3) brake cable II (4) brake lever, (5) U-shaped

clamp, (6) shackle (7) clamping nuts

Proper operation of the parking brake is dependent on the effectiveness of the front axle

brake and the correct brake cable tension.

Replacing the parking brake cable

Hitch trailer to tractor. Park trailer and tractor on level surface.

Place securing chocks under one trailer wheel.

Fully unscrew the bolt of the brake crank mechanism (2).

Loosen the nuts(7) of U-shaped clamps (5).
