Import Shared Keys for RRS
Perform this task for both VSky clusters involved in RRS. You need to access both the both local and remote
clusters simultaneously. It is necessary to first obtain the shared key from one server, then add that key to the
remote server, and vice versa. For simplicity in the example, we refer to
cluster A
and
cluster B
to distinguish
between the two clusters being configured for RRS.
See below for examples of how to establish replication service from one type of service to a different type, or
to the same type of service.
Launch a web browser and go to the cluster home page, then follow these steps to exchange the shared keys:
1.
In the home page of the cluster A, click the
Remote DR
(data replication/recovery)
menu tab.
2. Click
Display Public Key of Local Cluster
button.
3.
In a new page or tab, open the home page of the remote cluster B, click the
Remote
menu tab.
4.
Click on the
Add Public Key of Remote Server
button, paste the key you just copied from cluster A into
the space provided.
5. Now perform steps 1 - 4, but this time copy the public key from cluster B and manually share this with
cluster A. Then proceed to setup a schedule for back ups.
