Host I/O Interfaces
Host I/O Interfaces
The printer provides connections inside the left side panel for the
following host I/O interfaces:
•
Serial Interface (RS-232 or RS-422)
•
Centronics Parallel Interface
•
Dataproducts Parallel Interface
•
IEEE 1284 Parallel Interface
•
Ethernet Interface (if installed)
•
Coax/Twinax Interface (if installed)
One serial and one parallel interface can be active simultaneously
via Auto Switching. The parameters for each interface are selected
through the control panel via the “Host Interface” menu as
described in Chapter 3, “Printer Configuration.”
The location of the interface connectors is shown in Figure 5 on
page 216..
You must supply the interface cable to connect the printer to your
host computer. To facilitate the choice or manufacture of an
interface cable for your application, configuration and signal
information is provided on the Serial, Centronics, Dataproducts,
and IEEE 1284 interfaces in this appendix.
