Cleaning The Photoreceptor Drum
CAUTION
When cleaning the photoreceptor drum, observe the following
precautions:
•
To prevent the drum surface from becoming contaminated or
scratched, clean the drum only in a location that is free of dust.
•
Cleaning the drum may leave wiping stains on the surface of
the drum. Stained areas may deteriorate if the drum is left
unused in the printer for a long time after cleaning. Thus, after
cleaning and installing the drum in the printer, use maximum
size paper to print an image repeatedly until no stains remain.
Stains will usually be cleared after printing a few dozen pages.
•
Touching the surface of the drum with your hands. Avoid
touching it reduces the life of the drum.
