10. Print Quality
There may be superfluous foil on the surface of the sheet after foil printing.
Gently wipe the superfluous foil with a Kleenex or soft cloth.
When using sheets with a rough te xture, you may want to check Double
Pass Printing to increase the density of the foil. When Double Pass Printing
is checked, the printer prints each line twice. This check box is grayed out
when Foilfast ClearCovers is selected. In the Def ault setting, the Doub le
Pass printing checkbox is not checked.
Smoother sheets will give you a better print quality.
For printing on comp covers, try changing the Media Type setting from comp
cover HIGH to comp cover LOW, or vice versa.
The Foilfast works best with F oilfast branded covers. Other co vers may
work, but some may not be compatible.
11. Connection Method
I would like to use a printer switcher.
Since your printer switcher may not support bi-directional communication,
use a uni-directional interface setting.
I would like to use multiple printer ports for connections.
If the computer is AT-compatible, up to three ports (LPT1 to LPT3) can be
used, as long as they are parallel ports.
Can I use the printer on a network?
Yes, the pr inter can be used on a netw ork, but only with a unidirectional
interface and when set for unidirectional communication.
12. Other problems and operations
How do I delete the printer driver?
For Windows go to Star t/Settings/Printers and r ight-click on the F oilfast
Printer icon, then choose Delete . See the directions in this guide f or rein-
stalling the driver.
When my display is set for 64,000 or 16,700,000 colors, I run out of memory
when printing.
Windows runs out of memory when there are many display colors. Change
to 256 colors when printing. Changing the display mode does not change
the print results.
How can I reduce or enlarge my document?
The printer driver software allows you to scale printing. Specify your scaling
factor (25 – 400%) in the Reduce or Enlarge option of y our printer driver
software.
