5 Troubleshooting

5.2

Problems Connecting to the Signal Generator

If the

Generator

page is not displayed in the

Acquisition Settings

dialog,

check the following:

1. Have you correctly connected up the instrument as described in

ECTION

3.4?

Network

settings

industrial PC

2. Is the network address entered correctly in the industrial PC?

If you are using a signal generator other than Polytec's recommended

A-ESG-002 Signal Generator, check the network settings of the

industrial PC and, if necessary, change the values accordingly. Refer to

the operating instructions of the operating system. The correct values

are:
IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
If you have connected the signal generator, set up a network bridge for

the corresponding network adapters. Refer to the operating instructions

of the operating system. If necessary, change the values according to

the above mentioned values.

Check the signal generator network settings and if required, change the

values correspondingly. Refer to the operating instructions of the signal

generator. The correct values are:
IP address: 192.168.0.3
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

5.3

Problems Connecting to the Front-End

If you switch on the industrial PC only some time after the front-end, problems

with the network connection between the components may occur. First switch

on the front-end and immediately afterwards the industrial PC. If the network

connection is not correctly established, restart the front-end.
