sparkTrap
Position of the SparkTrap: anywhere in the extraction duct
between the filter unit and the first branch.
• Install the SparkTrap at an appropriate position.
Make sure that the SparkTrap remains accessible for
maintenance purposes (emptying).
4.6
duct connection
• Install the ductwork between the air inlet of the filter unit
and the workplaces.
WaRNiNg!
Make sure to install the SparkTrap in the extraction
duct between the filter unit and the first branch.
4.7
Electric connection
WaRNiNg
Electric connection is exclusively reserved to
authorised, trained and qualified engineers and
must be executed in accordance with local
requirements. Ensure compliance with the EMC
regulatory arrangements.
Refer to the separately supplied electrical diagram.
4.7.1 Control panel
• Connect the control panel in accordance with the electrical
diagram.
4.8
Compressed air connection
aTTENTiON
The compressed air must be dry and oil-free
according to ISO 8573-3 class 6.
To connect the compressed air, proceed as follows.
• Connect the compressed air hose to the compressed air
regulator.
• Set the compressed air regulator at 5 bar.
4.9
PlC
The PLC contains a real time clock and a weekly timer. Default
settings of the weekly timer are from Monday to Friday from
07:00 to 17:00 h
.
• Make sure that the real time clock and the date are correct.
• If not: set the actual time and date according to the
instructions as stated in Fig. III on page 20.
• If applicable: modify the weekly timer setting according to
the instructions as stated in Fig. IV on page 21.
4.10 Functioning and setting
4.10.1 Pressure relief valve
The pressure relief valve must open when the negative
pressure gets too high.
Connect all extraction guns, slowly tighten the relief valve by
turning clockwise to the point it just stops extracting false air.
This is the maximum setting and maximum extraction at the
welding torch. For less than 5 torches this can be to powerfull,
visual check extraction or measure extracted volume in line
with specifications of torch manufacturer. To reduce the
extraction release valve counter clockwise to allow the valve to
extract false air.
• To tighten the valve so it will open later: turn clockwise.
• To loosen the valve so it will open sooner: turn
counterclockwise.

4.10.2 Functional test
To do a functional test, proceed as follows.
• Compressed air must switch at 5 bar.
• Rotation direction as indicated on fan.
