Removing the Samples
Always use tongs or wear cryogloves when handling cold objects.
Remove the samples (and furniture if appropriate).
Press Stop on the freezer when complete.
The Run indicator will be switched off and the Kryo550-16 will stop beeping.
Warming the Chamber
Switching off the freezer at sub-zero temperatures may cause serious
damage to the equipment.
If the run was started from the control panel
If the profile was started from the control panel and had a start temperature above 0
o
C the
chamber can be warmed by merely pressing the Run button on the control panel. This
will cause the Kryo550-16 to start heating to its start temperature. Once the Kryo550-16
starts beeping to indicate that the start temperature has been reached, the Stop button can
be pressed to end the run.
If the run was started from DeltaT
If the profile was started from DeltaT and not stored in the Permanent Profile memory or
the program in the freezer's memory does not have a start temperature above 0
o
C, then a
profile with a start temperature of 0
o
C and a single step of a hold for 1 minute should be
created. This can then be run in the normal manner form DeltaT and can be used to warm
the system.
If the profile was started from DeltaT and was stored in the Permanent Profile memory
the chamber can be warmed in the same manner as if the run was started from the front
panel as described above.
Switching off the System
Switching off the chamber at sub-zero temperatures may cause serious
damage to the equipment.
In normal use, if connected to a liquid nitrogen cylinder, allow the hose to
thaw and warm up to room temperature before shutting off the valve on the
cylinder.
Switch off the Kryo550-16 using the mains on/off switch on the rear panel.
If a pump is being used switch off the power to the pump power supply at the wall socket.
Switch off the system using the mains switch on the Kryo550-16's control panel.
