Configuring Display Settings
Before you configure your system for the Sun Common
Desktop Environment (CDE) or OpenWindows, you need
to set the display mode for your board. DOME provides a
default display mode that you can either use or override.
Read the following sections before you configure CDE or
OpenWindows:
• “Using the default display mode” on page 55
• “Overriding the default display mode” on page 56
• “Using Visual Classes” on page 59
Then read the appropriate section for your windowing
environment:
• “Running OpenWindows” on page 64
• “Configuring the Common Desktop Environment” on
page 65
Using the default display mode
DOME configures the M2 board with a default display
mode before shipment. When you use the board as the boot
console, you must connect it to a display capable of showing
this default display mode. See page 69 for information on
making the M2 board the console.

Stereo Library Installation and Developer’s Guide.
