Any other usage will invalidate the approval of the apparatus if as a result, it
then ceases to conform to the standards against which approval was gained.

• The apparatus is only approved for compatible PBX's and Pitney Bowes

should be consulted for an up to date list of PBX's with which this
apparatus is compatible.

• It cannot be guaranteed that the apparatus will operate correctly under all

possible conditions of connection to compatible PBX's. In case of diffi-
culty, please refer in the first instance to Pitney Bowes

• WARNING. No more than two pauses should be inserted between the

PSTN access digit and the PSTN number when programming the
machine. Failure to observe this may cause incorrect working.

• Ensure that manually entered telephone numbers are correctly stored in

the apparatus and that all Speed Dial locations are correctly
programmed.

• The apparatus is suitable for connection to a PBX which returns

secondary proceed indication.

3. INSTALLATION OF ASSOCIATED TELEPHONE (Optional)

At the rear of the unit is the telephone connector. The associated telephone is
plugged into the socket marked TEL.

4. POINTS ON PITNEY BOWES HS1 HANDSET (Optional)

• The dialing code "999" can be dialed on the associated telephone for the

purposes of making calls to the British Telecom Emergency (999)
Service.

• The Redial facility of the handset must not be used when the apparatus

is connected to a PABX which returns secondary proceed indication.
Failure to comply with this requirement may result in unsatisfactory
operation.

• Before installation please ensure that the TONE/PULSE DIALLING

selector switch is set to the correct position.
