13. Inspect down lock and up lock for operation and adjustment.
14. Check alignment of up lock hook with strut roller bearing. Adjust as necessary.
15. Clean and inspect up and down lock actuator rod assemblies or cables, and rod end bearing
assemblies, for damage, binding, corrosion (remove boot), freedom of movement, operation and
lubrication. (Refer to latest Piper Service Letter No. 755.)
16. Inspect gear doors and attachments for security and corrosion. (Refer to latest Piper Service
17. Inspect warning horn and light for operation.
18. Retract gear - check operation.
19. Retract gear - check doors for clearance and operation.
20. Lubricate as per Piper Service Manual (Section II).
21. Inspect anti-retraction system.
22. Inspect actuating cylinder for leaks and security.
23. Inspect position indicating switches and electrical wires for condition and security.
1. Check oleo strut for proper extension.
2. Check nose gear steering for full travel.
3. Inspect tire for cuts, uneven or excessive wear and slippage.
4. Remove wheel, clean, check and repack bearings (see Note 2).
5. Inspect wheel for cracks, corrosion and broken bolts.
6. Check tire pressure (Refer to Piper Service Manual).
7. Inspect shimmy dampener for damage.
8. Inspect gear fork for damage.
9. Inspect oleo strut for fluid leaks and scoring.
10. Inspect gear strut, attachments, torque link, retraction links and bolts for condition, security and
corrosion.
11. Inspect down lock and up lock for operation and adjustment.
12. Clean and inspect up and down lock actuator rod assemblies or cables, and rod end bearing
assemblies, for damage, binding, corrosion (remove boot), freedom of movement, operation and
lubrication. (Refer to latest Piper Service Letter No. 755.)

2 . Inspect horizontal stabilizer and elevator surfaces for damage (and attachments for operation).
3. Check rotating beacon, strobe light for security, damage and operation.
4. Check condition of pneumatic deicers (if applicable).
5. Lubricate as per Piper Service Manual (Section II).
