1. Remove engine cowl.
2. Remove, drain and clean fuel filter bowl and element (drain at least every ninety (90) days).
3. Check for proper oil level and filler locking cap for security.
4. Inspect oil lines and fittings for leaks, security, chafing, dents and cracks.
5. Inspect and clean oil radiator cooling fins.
6. Remove air inlet screen, inspect first stage compressor blades for ingestion damage and corrosion.
Inspect screen for damage and cleanliness and reinstall.
7. Inspect condition of inlet air ice protection mechanism (Piper Service Manual, Section Vlll).
8. Inspect power lever, condition lever, propeller governor and propeller reversing linkage for travel
and operation (Piper Service Manual, Section Vlll).
9. Inspect gas generator case for cracks, distortion and evidence of overheating.
10. Inspect all flexible lines (fuel, hydraulic and oil), and replace on condition (Refer to Piper Service
11. Inspect fuel system for leaks.
12. Inspect breather tube for obstructions and security.
13. Inspect propeller shaft for oil leaks.
14. Inspect all engine fire seals.
15. Inspect rubber engine mounts for deterioration (refer to Special Inspection, 400 hour).
16. Inspect fire extinguisher pressure (Piper Service Manual, Section XIV).
17. Inspect condition of starter-generator (Refer to Special Inspection, 300 hour).
18. Install engine cowl.

NOTE 1 - Wheel bearings may require more frequent service depending on operating environment.
NOTE 2 - Inspect oil filter on both engines the first 100 hours and every 400 hours thereafter.
NOTE 3 - Each time the elevator control tube is removed/reinstalled visually inspect for cracks,
sharp dents or nicks. Handle with care. (See latest Piper Service Bulletin No. 715.)
CAUTION - Perform deicer heater checks only long enough to determine actual operation. By no
means long enough that the deicer becomes too hot to touch. (Refer to Right Propeller, Detailed,
Step 10).
NOTE - Upon completion of this Event Inspection make the appropriate entry in the Event Record
and Sign Off Sheet.
