Notes on b a ttery c h a rging
• B a ttery per f or ma nce is in f luenced by the surroundin g te m per a ture. Ch a r g e the
supplied rech a r g e a ble b a tteries w ithin a te m per a ture r a n g e o f 5 to 35 de g rees
celsius.
• Do not overch a r g e b a tteries. In order to protect b a tteries, do not repe a tedly
ch a r g e the b a tteries th a t a re a lre a dy f ully ch a r g ed.
• B a tteries beco m e sli g htly wa r m w hen ch a r g in g . This is not a ma l f unction.
• Use only the supplied A C a d a ptor w ith this unit. Usin g other A C a d a ptors ma y
c a use ma l f unction.
• For your s af ety, only the supplied rech a r g e a ble b a tteries c a n be ch a r g ed by
this unit. Do not use other types o f rech a r g e a ble or dry-cell b a tteries.
• Rech a r g e a ble b a tteries should be repl a ced w ith ne w ones w hen they l a st only
a short ti m e af ter rech a r g in g . Ne w b a tteries c a n be ordered f ro m your ne a rest

• Durin g rech a r g in g , sound is not produced f ro m the spe ak er even i f the
spe ak er’s po w er s w itch is turned on.
• The spe ak er’s POWER indic a tor nor ma lly li g hts g reen durin g use, but w hen
the b a ttery’s re ma inin g ch a r g e is lo w , the indic a tor f l a shes g reen. I f the
indic a tor be g ins f l a shin g , the spe ak er should be rech a r g ed a s soon a s
possible.
• I f the spe ak er is only used f or short periods o f ti m e, the b a ttery should not be
rech a r g ed until it is a llo w ed to disch a r g e co m pletely. I f the b a ttery still a llo w s
only a short oper a tin g ti m e af ter f ull rech a r g in g , the b a ttery ma y h a ve re a ched
the end o f its li f eti m e.
By connectin g this unit to a television or AV co m ponent, you c a n listen to the T V /
AV co m ponent’s sound throu g h this unit’s spe ak ers. For det a ils re ga rdin g
connections, re a d the T V / AV co m ponent’s oper a tin g instructions.
1 Listening to a udio using only this unit’s spe a kers
Connect the he a dphone output ja c k o f the T V / AV co m ponent to the
tr a ns m itter’s input cord (see Fi g ure 2 -3.1).
S ound w ill ce a se to be output f ro m the T V / AV co m ponent a nd w ill be output
f ro m this unit’s spe ak ers a lone.
• I f this unit is connected to Mono T V , sound w ill be produced f ro m the unit’s le f t
spe ak er only.
• I f the T V / AV co m ponent’s controls a re used to a d j ust the sound volu m e, the
sound volu m e f ro m the spe ak ers w ill ch a n g e. I f the volu m e is r a ised to a n
excessive level in this wa y, sound f ro m the spe ak ers ma y be distorted. In this
c a se, f irst lo w er the volu m e usin g the T V / AV co m ponent controls, then r a ise
the volu m e by usin g the spe ak er’s controls.
