Control diaphragm [16] ruptured Change the diaphragm
Slam-shut obturator does not close
Obturator gasket [10] deteriorated Change the gasket
Leakage from slam-shut obturator
O-ring [66] worn Change
Obturator seat [7] eroded or pitted Change the seat
Wrong setting of maximum and/or Make the setting again using the rings
minimum spring [12] and/or [13]
Incorrect intervention pressure
Friction in lever system Change the box containing the whole
assembly
Persistence of the cause which led to Decrease or increase the downstream
pressure increase or decrease downstream pressure
Rearming not possible
Lever system broken or chipped Change the standard box containing the
assembly outside the regulator

.B. If the slam-shut has intervened, close the inlet and outlet valve ( V1 and V2 ) on the line and discharge the
pressure before carrying out any operation.
Eliminate the causes which gave rise to intervention before reactivating it.
