8.2 Battery replacement and Smart Restart feature
If you change the Battery quickly in 60 seconds or less, with LUCAS in the ON mode, the LUCAS
Smart Restart feature remembers the settings and Start Position according to the table below. If
the Battery change takes more than 60 seconds, LUCAS does a self test and you must adjust the
Start Position again.
In the ACTIVE (continuous) mode
The ACTIVE (continu-
ous) key, LUCAS per-
forms continuous
chest compressions.

will blink 8 times per

tent LED during com-

27, 28, 29 and 30.

operator to venti-
late the patient
when LUCAS
temporarily stops
the compressions
at number 30.
When the Suction Cup is in a low-
er position than for the minimum
patient (sternum height below 6.7
inches / 17 cm) and you cannot
enter the PAUSE mode or AC-
TIVE mode, the patient is too
small.
