Digital thermometer (SCH420)
Intended use
The digital thermometer is for use in a domestic /home
environment and measures your or your child’s body
temperature rectally (in the rectum), axially (in the armpit)
or orally (in the mouth). For older children and adults,
the digital thermometer can also be used to measure
temperature orally (in the mouth) or axially (in the armpit).
Important safety information
Read this important information carefully before you use
the device and save it for future reference.
Warnings
-
Keep the device out of reach of infants, children or pets.
These products contain items with sharp edges and
small parts. Inhalation or swallowing of small parts can
be dangerous.

Risk of swallowing batteries! The digital thermometer
contains a button battery. If the button battery is swallowed,
it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can
lead to death. Battery compartment cover of the digital
thermometer must be replaced properly if removed.

Clean all products before and after each use. See section
‘Cleaning’. After using the digital thermometer rectally
or in the armpit, do not use it for oral measurement for
hygienic reasons, not even after cleaning.

Batteries may explode if exposed to high temperatures
or fire. Do not store or leave any product in direct
sunlight or near any source of heat.

Never attempt to recharge the battery.

This device can be used by persons with reduced physical or
mental capabilities, or lack of understanding and knowledge.
They can only use the device under supervision or after
instruction by a person responsible for their safety.

Always check the device before use for damage. Do not
use the device when damaged, this could result in injuries.

Do not take apart, repair or change any part of the
device at any time, this could result in injuries.

Do not use the digital thermometer near strong
electric or magnetic fields, for example magnets,
radio transmitters or microwave ovens. This could
cause measurement errors and reduce the essential
performance of the digital thermometer.

Do not use the digital thermometer within 30 cm
(12 inch) of an RF device (e.g. mobile phone, baby
monitor, DECT telephone etc.). This could cause
measurement errors and reduce the essential
performance of the digital thermometer.
Cautions for digital thermometer
-
The digital thermometer is suitable for use at room
temperatures between 10 °C (50 °F) and 40 °C (104 °F).
When used outside this temperature range, accuracy of
the measurement is not guaranteed.

Do not drop the digital thermometer or expose it to
shocks, this might damage the device and lead to
inaccurate measurements.

Do not bend or disassemble the tip of the digital
thermometer.
-
Do not use the digital thermometer if the display shows
a dot on the bottom right of the screen. This means that
the battery is low and therefore measurements will be
inaccurate.
-
Do not bite the metal tip while you measure temperature
orally. Simply place the tip under the tongue.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
