information such as warnings and precautions that

the digital thermometer is switched on, the display
automatically shows the last measured temperature for
approx. 2 seconds.

Battery-low indication

If the display shows a dot on the bottom right of the screen
(Fig. 15), the battery is low and the temperature is no longer
accurate. Replace the battery (see ‚Removing/inserting
batteries‘).

Audible signals

1 beep per second: Temperature is normal (<37.8 °C/100 °F)
3 beeps per second: Possible fever (>37.8 °C/100 °F)
Note: The Thermometer only indicates fever. it does not
beep when your child‘s temperature is below normal.

Removing/inserting batteries

If the display shows a dot on the bottom right of the
screen, the battery is low. Replace the battery of the digital
thermometer as described below.

Press the top and the bottom of the battery cover and
gently pull to remove it (Fig. 16).

Remove the battery gently by using a pen (Fig. 17).
Important: Do not pull the battery tray more than 1cm
out of the thermometer. The sensor can break off.

Dispose of the battery properly.

Insert a new battery (Fig. 18).

Press the battery cover back onto the thermometer until
it clicks into place (Fig. 19).

Error function

In case of malfunction, the display shows ‘Err’. Remove
the batteries, wait for 1 minute, insert the batteries and turn
it back on.

Cleaning

Use warm water and some washing-up liquid.
Be careful not to damage the parts when you clean the
digital thermometer:

-

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, anti-bacterial
cleaning agents or chemical solvents. Excessive
concentration of cleaning agents may eventually cause
plastic components to crack.

-

The thermometer should not be immersed in any liquid,
especially alcohol.

-

Do not clean the thermometer in a dishwasher,
microwave or sterilizer.

Storage

Put the protection cap on the digital thermometer after use
and store it in a clean and dry place.

Accessories

Nasal aspirator

Warnings:
- Never use the nasal aspirator in the baby’s mouth
  or ears.
- Never point the tip directly in the center of the nostril.

Remove the cap of the nasal aspirator

Squeeze the aspirator bulb and place the tip gently into
the baby’s nostril and tilt the tip to the side. Be careful
not to insert the aspirator into the baby’s nose too far.

Release the bulb slowly to let the suction draw mucus
out of the baby’s nose.

Repeat the process with the other nostril.

Cleaning

Disassemble all parts of the nasal aspirator and wash
them in warm water with washing-up liquid.

Clean the nasal aspirator in boiling water for 10 min. and
dry it afterwards.

Finger toothbrush

Place the finger toothbrush on your fingertip to massage the
baby’s gums gently.

Cleaning

Clean with a steriliser or boiling water. Let it cool down
and dry.

Brush and comb

Brush/comb the baby’s hair from root to tip.
Tip: Carefully keep a hand on the roots while brushing or
combing to avoid pulling the baby’s scalp.

Measurement

To ensure the best accuracy, we advise you to measure
the temperature rectally. Oral and axial measurements are
usually 0.5 °C (0.9 °F) to 1 °C (1.8 °F) lower than actual body
temperature.

Remove the protection cap from the digital thermometer.
Make sure that the metal probe of the flexible tip is still
firmly attached to the digital thermometer.

Lubricate the tip of the digital thermometer with a water-
soluble jelly (only when used axially or rectally).

Press to switch on the digital thermometer. At startup,
all segments of the display light up, followed by the last
measured temperature.

Proceed with one of the measuring steps as indicated
below, depending on the choice of use (rectally, oral or
axially) (see ‚Three types of measurement‘).
Note: It is advised not to use the digital thermometer
for oral or axial temperature measurements on children
younger than three years.

Keep the digital thermometer in place until the
measurement is finished (when the °C/°F indication
stops flashing and the thermometer beeps). See section
‘Audible signals’ for the meaning of the beeps.

In case

of oral or axial use, keep the tip of the thermometer in
place for approximately 5 minutes, regardless of any
beeps, for accurate measurement.
Note: If for some reason the temperature cannot be
measured, the display shows ‘Lo’ or ‘Hi’. This means
that the temperature is outside the temperature range.
Switch off the digital thermometer, check if it is correctly
positioned and switch it on again.

Remove the digital thermometer and read the display.
Results may vary based on the individual and the
method used.

Press to switch off the digital thermometer.

Switch off the digital thermometer after use. The digital
thermometer switches off automatically after 10 minutes.

Clean the digital thermometer after each use. Follow the
instructions in chapter ‘Cleaning’.

Three types of measurement

Measuring the temperature rectally

For rectal measurement of a baby’s temperature, proceed
as follows:

-

Lay the baby on its stomach or its side.

-

With one hand, separate the baby’s buttocks. With
the other hand, gently slide the tip of the digital
thermometer no more than 12 mm (1/2 inch) into the
rectum. If you detect any resistance, stop immediately.

-

Hold the baby firmly so that it cannot turn while the
digital thermometer is inserted.
Note: Be careful not to push the flexible tip too far into
the rectum.

Measuring the temperature orally

Place the tip of the thermometer under your child’s tongue.
Make sure your child’s lips are sealed.

Measuring the temperature axially

Place the tip of the thermometer in your child’s armpit.
Make sure your child’s armpit is dry. Press its arm against its
body and hold its elbow to keep the thermometer in place.
After using the digital thermometer rectally or in the armpit,
do not use it for oral measurement for hygienic reasons, not
even after cleaning.

Childrens’ temperature

The temperature of a child is normally between 36.5 °C
(97.7 °F) and 37.5 °C (99.5 °F). Keep in mind that a child’s
temperature varies depending on age, activity, time of
day, etc. Remember that some illnesses do not have high
temperature as a symptom. Temperature measurement
should not be a substitute for consulting your physician.
When reporting your child’s temperature to a professional,
state the measurement method.

Features

Celsius (°C)/Fahrenheit (°F)

You can select Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) for measuring
temperature. When the thermometer is switched off, press
and hold the on/off button for 2 seconds to change the
measurement unit.

Last temperature recall

The digital thermometer has a memory function. When
