Request/Clear a Sequence
A previously programmed sequence can be 'loaded'
using the following steps:
1.
Press SEQUENCE and verify that the
SEQUENCE indicator lights.
2.
Key in the sequence number using the numeric
keypad. This must be a number from 1 to 60.
3.
Press ENTER.
Note that since sequences may use more than
one monitor, all monitors required for this
sequence must be available by not having a
sequence currently on them. This rule is
overridden if the same user or a user with a
higher priority than the user who loaded any
conflicting sequences attempts to load the new
one. It is also possible to unload a sequence by
entering no data for the sequence number. This
will set the on-screen status prompt to '00' and
free the monitors for other use.
EXAMPLE: SEQUENCE 10 ENTER
The above example 'loads' sequence number 10 into
the monitor currently 'connected' to the keyboard.
Note that this action does not start the sequence
running. The status display area of the monitor will
indicate the sequence number in the appropriate
location if the status display option has not been
disabled.
EXAMPLE: SEQUENCE ENTER
This example unloads any sequence from the
monitor currently connected to the keyboard.
Run a Sequence
To run a sequence currently 'loaded' in the monitor,
press RUN.
EXAMPLE: RUN
If the sequence was stopped, the above RUN
command will start it sequencing. The direction of the
sequencing will be indicated in the monitor status
display by a directional arrow and the letter 'R' to the
right of the sequence number (if the status display
mode is selected). If RUN is pressed while a
sequence is already running, the switcher goes
immediately to the next step in the sequence, and
continues to run. Holding RUN down produces a
'quick-scan' effect. If RUN is pressed when no
sequence is 'loaded', an error will result. If the
monitor is in alarm, the RUN key will control the
switching of alarm video rather than a loaded
sequence.
Stop a Running Sequence
To stop a running sequence, press HOLD.
EXAMPLE: HOLD
The above command will stop a sequence if one is
currently running. If the sequence is already stopped,
pressing HOLD will have no effect. If no sequence is
currently 'loaded', pressing HOLD will result in an
error condition. The monitor status display will show
an 'S' to the right of the sequence number. If the
monitor is in alarm, the HOLD key will stop the alarm
switcher rather than a loaded sequence.
Controlling the Direction of a Sequence
The direction of executing steps can be set to forward
or reverse; the sequence can also be manually
stepped with the following commands:
1.
To set the sequence direction forward and go to
the next step, press NEXT.
2.
To set the sequence direction reverse and go to
the previous step, press PREVIOUS.
If NEXT is pressed with the sequence in the stop
state, the sequence switches forward and remains
stopped. If the sequence is running when NEXT is
pressed, it immediately goes to the next step and
continues to run. The same is true for the PREVIOUS
key, but in the reverse direction. If either NEXT or
PREVIOUS is held down, a 'quick-scan' effect
switching at a rate of approximately two steps per
second will take place. If no sequence is 'loaded',
pressing NEXT or PREVIOUS will produce an error
indication. When sequences are first 'loaded', their
direction defaults to forward.
EXAMPLE: PREVIOUS
The above command pressed while a camera
sequence is running will reverse the sequence. Also
note that if PREVIOUS is pushed while in HOLD and
the display is showing the forward prompt, the first
push will change the direction only, and a second
push will then switch to the previous step. The same
is true for NEXT in the opposite direction. The
monitor status display will show an arrow pointing
either up or down indicating the direction of the
sequence. The arrow will be to the right of the
sequence number, either above or below the
sequence run (R) or stopped (S) indicator. If the
monitor is in alarm, the PREVIOUS and NEXT keys
will control the alarm switcher rather than the loaded
sequence.
