2. Intended use
With a danger and risk analysis, dangers created in the installation can be ascertained. If a dangerous situation is to
be avoided, then the sounders can be used as an integral part of a technical safety system (Safety Instrument System
- SIS) up to safety integration level 2 (SIL 2).
Because of the very different integration of the sounders in various safety architectures, they must be viewed differ-
ently. The following uses are described in the safety manual:

In general, the operational safety of the device and the therefore connected system is only guaranteed during in-
tended use in accordance with the specifications of the operating manual. Custom-designed dangers could result from
inappropriate or unintended use of this device.
