TRANSPORT AND HANDLING
•
When moving between working areas, the brush cutter's engine must always be stopped.
•
The exhaust muffler remains hot even after the engine has stopped. Never touch any hot
parts, such as the muffler, when starting the engine or while the engine is running.
•
Check the fuel tank for gasoline leaks.
LONG-TERM STORAGE
•
Check and clean the brush cutter and if necessary have it repaired.Drain all fuel from the
fuel tank.Start the engine. Let it run until the remaining fuel in the fuel lines and carburettor
is used up.Remove the spark plug and pour a spoonful of clean engine oil into the cylinder
through the spark plug opening.
•
If the spark plug is fouled with oil deposits, clean or replace it.
•
If the centre electrode is worn so that it is round, replace the spark plug.
•
Spark plug gap 0.6 – 0.7 mm (0.023" – 0.028")
•
Screw the spark plug back. Tightening torque: = 14.5-15.5 Nm (125-135 in.lb)Store the
brush cutter in a clean, dry and dust-free place.
WARNING: Cover the steel cutting blade with a transport safety cover during
transport.
TROUBLESHOOTING
FAILURES, such as difficult engine starting, irregular engine running and low engine power,
can normally be prevented by carefully following all the operating instructions and
maintenance procedures included in these Operating Instructions.
If the engine is malfunctioning, perform the following checks:
•
Check the fuel system for proper condition and whether the fuel is being supplied to the
engine.Check the ignition system for proper condition and whether the spark plug provides
a sufficient spark.
•
Check the engine for proper compression.
FAILURE TO START
•
Drain all fuel from the fuel tank.
•
Ensure refuelling with clean fresh fuel.
•
Check the fuel filter for cleanliness (if necessary, replace it). Make sure the air filter insert is
clean.
•
Install a new and correctly gapped plug.In the event of serious failures of the brush cutter,
do not try to repair it yourself, contact your dealer, who is able to carry out the necessary
repairs in a professional manner.
