RULES OF SAFE OPERATION
WARNING
DANGER
All models of trimmers and brush cutters can throw up small stones, small
metal objects as well as the material being cut into the surroundings. Read
these “Safe Operation Rules” carefully.
Observe all the instructions included in these Operating Instructions.
Read the Operating Instructions carefully. Make yourself closely familiar with the controls and
proper use of the brush cutter. Learn how to quickly switch off the engine. Learn how to quickly
unhook the brush cutter from the harness.
Do not allow untrained persons to operate the brush cutter. Make sure the operator wears
safety shoes, leg protectors, protective goggles, face protection, ear protectors and guards
against thrown objects. Keep bystanders, children and animals away from the working area.
Never allow children to operate or play with the brush cutter.
Do not allow other persons to enter the DANGER ZONE. The danger zone is an area within a
radius of 15 meters (about 16 paces) or 50 feet.
Make sure persons in the hazardous area behind the danger zone wear protective goggles
against thrown objects. If the brush cutter must be used in places where unprotected people
can be present, operate the brush cutter at low engine speeds to reduce the risk of objects
being thrown up.
Check the proper functioning of the stop switch by switching it to the “O” position at idle engine
speed. You may only continue operating the brush cutter if the stop switch is in good condition.
Acquire the habit of making routine checks of the cutting tool to make sure it stops at idle
engine speed.
