  SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

7

WARNING

J

Do not allow the air mattress to be operated by
a person deemed incapable of understanding
mattress operation (a child aged 12 or under or
a person with dementia).

z

Do not allow the pump to be operated by a person
who is deemed incapable of comprehending the
operation, as there is a risk of unexpected injury
such as the body getting caught in the gap between
the air mattress and the bed or bed-side rails, or a
risk of bedsores caused by an inability to disperse
body pressure effectively.

J

Adjust the hardness according to the weight of
the user.

z

If the hardness adjustment is not successful, the
body pressure may not be dispersed effectively,
possibly causing bedsores.

J

If emergency response such as cardiac
massage is required, use the CPR function
(see p. 16).

z

If the CPR function is not used, immediate action
cannot be taken and symptoms may worsen.

J

Do not place the air mattress in a strong
electromagnetic environment such as MRI.

z

The air mattress may malfunction or fail to work.

z

Medical electrical equipment needs special

precautions regarding EMC and needs to be

installed according to the EMC information

provided.

J

Do not smoke on the air mattress.

J

Do not use the air mattress for a person lighter
or heavier than the specified weight range.

z

This air mattress can be used for persons with a
weight from 30 to 180 kg. If it is used by a person
lighter or heavier than the specified weight range,
the body pressure cannot be dispersed effectively.

J

Multiple persons should not get on the air
mattress.

z

The body pressure may not be dispersed

 effectivel

causing bedsores or damage to the air mattress.

J

Do not lie facedown.

z

Lying facedown for a long time could lead to
suffocation.

J

Install the pump properly according to the
prescribed procedure. Make sure the air
mattress is connected to the pump properly.

z

Improper installation or improper connection or

fixing may cause malfunction or result in an inability
to supply air, so the body pressure may not be
dispersed effectively, possibly causing bedsores.

z

Improper fixing may result in the pump falling down,

causing injury or damage or deformation. Damage
may also result in a short circuit, which may cause
an electric shock or a fire.

z

his device should not be used ad acent to or

stac ed  ith other equipment.

* For the proper installation procedure, see p. 12

and p. 13.

J

Place the air mattress properly with the regard
to the top, bottom, head end, and foot end.

z

Failure to do so will result in not being able to
disperse body pressure effectively.

J

Do not apply a strong shock to the part
connecting the air mattress and the pump.

z

Hitting a wheelchair, electric patient lifter, etc.
against the part connecting the air mattress and the
pump may cause the coupling to be disconnected,
which may cause an air leakage from the air
mattress, so the body pressure may not be
dispersed effectively.

J

When using electrical equipment such as an
electric cover blanket, pay attention to the
following items.

z

z

Install electrical equipment so cables (such as the

power cable) do not get caught in the casters or

movable parts of the bed. Damage to the cables

may cause electric shock or fire.

Keep the temperature

to

 40°C.

Failure to do so may cause the failure of the air

mattress.

z

Before use, check the safe operating procedures
by referring to, for example, the instruction manual
of the electrical equipment to be used.

z

Do not use electrical equipment that is placed
under the body, such as an electric sheet blanket.

J

Always unplug the power plug before cleaning.

z

Failure to do so may cause the air mattress to start
unexpectedly, possibly causing injury.

Doing so may cause fire.

Do not spill water.

Do not spill water on the pump. This could  cause

an electric shock due to short circuit or failure.  If

water is accidentally spilled on the pump,  remove

the power plug from the power outlet and  then

contact your distributor (see "Contact  Information"

on p. 32).
