Troubleshooting when installing the printer software

Trouble

Possible Cause

Corrective Action

Printer software cannot be 
installed in a computer.

You do not log on the 
computer as an Administrator 
in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 
2000 or Windows XP.

Log on the computer as an 
Administrator.

A document is not printed 
through the server computer.

You have no authority to print.

Contact the administrator to 
register you.

You are not registered in the 
server.

The administrator’s 
password is required when 
restarting the computer.

You cannot install the printer 
software. 

Install the printer software as an 
Administrator.

The printer CD-ROM disk 
may be required when 
modifying or repairing the 
installed printer software 
after installing the printer 
software with the shared 
folder of the server computer.
