Note:
R If you receive an outside call while talking on the
intercom, you hear interrupt tones. To answer the
call, hang up the intercom, then answer the outside
call.
– see step 3 on “3.1.1 With the cordless handset”,
page 24.

M RECALL N / M N cannot be used to answer
outside calls.
R When paging the cordless handset, the paged
cordless handset beeps for 1 minute.

R The base unit or the destination cordless handset
will beep (be paged) for 1 minute.
R To stop paging, press M N .

cordless handset number.

R The destination cordless handset(s) will beep (be

To end the intercom call, press M SP-PHONE N or

Cordless handset locator
You can locate a misplaced cordless handset by
pressing
M LOCATOR NM 0 N on the base unit.
R All registered cordless handsets beep for 1 minute.
To stop paging, press M LOCATOR N again.
8.3.2 Answering intercom calls
With the cordless handset
When the cordless handset is being paged, it will beep
(be paged) and the ringer indicator will flash rapidly. The
display will show the paging extension’s number.

Press M N or M N to answer the page.

To end the intercom call, press M N .
With the base unit
When the base unit is being paged, it will beep and
display the paging extension’s number.
KX-FC275:

Press M SP-PHONE N , M INTERCOM N or lift the
handset to answer the page.

To end the intercom call, press M SP-PHONE N ,
M INTERCOM N or replace the handset.
KX-FC265:

Press M SP-PHONE N or M INTERCOM N to answer the
page.

8.4 Transferring a call/conference
Outside calls can be transferred between a cordless
handset and the base unit, and between 2 cordless
handsets using the intercom feature.
8.4.1 To the base unit or another cordless
handset (using the cordless handset)

Cordless handset:
During an outside call, press to put the call on
hold.
R flashes to indicate the outside call is on hold.

Cordless handset:
To page the base unit,
press M 0 N .
To page another cordless handset, press the
desired cordless handset number.

Base unit (KX-FC275):
Press M SP-PHONE N or lift the handset to answer the
page.
Base unit (KX-FC265):
Press M SP-PHONE N to answer the page.
Another cordless handset:
Press M N or M N to answer the page.

Cordless handset:
To complete the transfer, press M N .
To establish a conference call, press M 3 N .
R To leave the conference, press M N . The other
parties can continue the conversation.
Note:
R After the paging party disconnects, you can talk to the
outside caller.
Transferring a call without speaking to the base unit
user/other cordless handset user
After step 2, press M N .
R The outside call rings at the base unit or the other
cordless handset.
