Ingredients
Filling
3 rashers of bacon
Half an onion, chop-
ped
100g Grated Gruyere
cheese
125ml sour cream
1 egg
50g mature cheese
salt, pepper
Crust
100g salted crackers,
crushed
50g butter, melted
Preparation
Make crust by mixing together the crackers and
butter. Press into a 22cm pie plate.
Put the bacon onto a heatproof plate, cover with
a piece kitchen roll and cook on microwave
1000 watts for 2 minutes, chop into small pieces.
Put olive oil in a bowl, add the chopped onion
and cook for 3 minutes on microwave 1000
watts.
Pre-heat the oven on convection 190°C with the
enamel shelf in position.
Mix together the Swiss cheese, sour cream, eggs
and pepper.
Add the bacon and onions and pour into the
shell.
Cook on convection 190°C for 30 minutes.
Sprinkle the mature cheddar cheese on top.
Stand for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Onion Pie
Cooking Time: 35 minutes

150g Smoked ham,
cut into pieces
75g Gruyere cheese,
grated
1/2
onion, chopped
4 eggs
500ml full fat milk
1/4
tsp (2ml) salt
1 pinch of pepper
Preparation
Pre-heat the oven on convection 200°C with the
enamel shelf in position.
Grease a 22cm pie plate. Sprinkle the ham, chee-
se and onion into the pie plate.
Place the 4 eggs, milk and seasoning in a food
mixer and blend until smooth.
Pour the mixture into the plate.
Cook for 35-40 minutes until set and golden
brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minute before serving.
