Add 5 quarts (4.73 L) of oil to the winch drum through
the pull tube. Refer to “CONVERSION PARTS FOR
LEVEL WIND DRIVE” and install the sprockets, chain,
freespool parts, extension shaft and diamond screw dis-
connect lever. Return the winch to a level position and
fill the chain case to the center of the sight glass

(approx. 9 quarts - 8.5L).
After the winch is installed, be sure the drum rotates in
the correct direction to pay-out and haul-in cable as indi-
cated at the operators station. Be sure the freespool
mechanism and the indicator lights are operating cor-
rectly.

BRAKE VALVE AND CARTRIDGE INFORMATION

The brake valve block contains two Sun cartridges. The
cartridges are factory set and are NOT adjustable.
There is a seal kit available for the cartridges. Order
BRADEN part number 29872. There are no other user
serviceable parts in the valve block.
