5.1 Verification of functionality and inspection for wear
The orthosis with the E-MAG Active must be inspected regularly every six months!
INFORMATION
Document your maintenance work and intervals. The maintenance schedule at the end of these in-
stallation and service instructions serves as a template for making copies. We recommend including
a copy in your documentation after each maintenance order is completed. Also be sure to inform your
customer about the required maintenance intervals.
During semi-annual maintenance, first verify the proper functionality of the
• lock and
• electronics.
INFORMATION
For use without a medial support, please note that the joint system must be checked for excessive wear
every 3 months. If no excessive wear is found, the maintenance interval can be extended to 6 months.
INFORMATION
Please note that the joint nut must be tightened to a torque of 35 Nm. In order to facilitate maintenance,
the joint nut must not be concealed.
Then open the joint as indicated in Figure 60. Check
• for wear (play in the joint (ML));
• for cracks in the lock or lock stop;
• for visible signs of wear in the bearing material;
• the bearing washer (A) (included in the 17BS200 maintenance kit),
• the bearing bushings (B) (included in the 17BS200 Maintenance Kit);
• whether dust or dirt has settled inside the joint;
• and replace the 30Y169=3 Eladur bumper (C), if necessary
(included in the 17BS200 Maintenance Kit).
INFORMATION
The bearing washer (A) and the bearing bushing (B) can be replaced if required. Only use soap and water
for cleaning. When replacing the bearing washer, only use washers of the same colour.
