D E S C R I P T I O N
T o format, initialise and name, a disc in a specified drive unit.
I N S T R U C T I O N
T y p e in ! F O R M A T <drive number>
When you have pressed RETURN, a message asks you to give the disc
a name. This can be a m a x i m u m of any nine characters (alphanumeric,
symbolic and spaces) in any order.
RETURN.
T y p e in the n a m e you want to give the disc, and press
A further message will now a p p e a r asking you to load the blank disc into
the drive and press RETURN.
Insert the blank disc in the drive unit and press RETURN.
Formatting will now take place and a message will tell you when the disc
is f o r m a t t e d and will also ask if you wish to f o r m a t a n o t h e r disc.
If you do (wish to f o r m a t another disc) type in Y RETURN
and a
message (as before) asking for a name, will be displayed.
If you do not (wish to f o r m a t a n o t h e r disc) type N or any other character
and press RETURN.
T h e system will then exit the F O R M A T p r o g r a m
and you are free to select other instructions.
NOTES
1.
You must specify a drive n u m b e r , the default drive does not apply
for this function.
