6 Maintenance and protect
The surgical microscope must be regularly maintained so as to reduce fault and ensure normal
work of instrument.
Conditions for normal operation: Environmental temperature 10
C~30
C; Relative
humidity ≤70%; Atmosphere 86KPa~106Kpa; Power source 220V±22V, 50HZ
±1HZ.
When the instrument is used after a long period of storage, it is necessary to turn on
power switch first, let the instrument to be heated for 5 minutes more to drive away
moisture, then use it again according to normal procedures.
If the power supply of electrical network of your region is over-voltage or lower
voltage (over 242V or below 198V), please provide AC regulator in order to
guarantee your instrument long period normal work.
Due to this instrument is a precise optical instrument, a special keeper should be
appointed. The keeper and user must read this Operation Manual, carefully,
understand the instrument performance, maintenance knowledge and method of
operation. It is forbidden to compact or shock the instrument during operation and
storage.
This instrument should be used in clean working environment, so the operating room
and the store room should keep dry. The room should be free of super-cooling,
overheat and contacting gas with soda acid. If the microscope will not be used for a
long time, the power socket should be taken down from power supply. Seal up
microscope head with plastic bag with moisture-proof silica gel inside and place the
instrument in a dry environment.
When the instrument goes out of factory, each part has good performance. Normally,
it must not be dismantled, adjusted with the exception of that mentioned above. If
fault occurs, should first refer to Section

Don’t touch the exposed optical elements such as primary objective and eyepiece
with hand, as less as possible to rub them. If it has dust, gently sweep dust with soft
hairbrush. If there are fingerprints on the glass surface, clean it with absorbent cotton
or lens tissue dipping with little anhydrous alcohol, ether or acetone
Other exposed part with lacquer print can be cleaned with alcohol.
Different parts or attachments can be installed on the head of the microscope
according to different needs. Attachments that are not needed temporarily should not
be erected on the microscope all together, keep them in dry environment with
ventilation and drier material. The interface port should be covered with
dust-proofing cover.
The surgical microscope is a precise instrument. The lifetime of the instrument
depends on maintenance and operation condition. Good maintenance will prolong the
lifetime of the instrument. The referenced lifetime of the microscope is 6 years.
