STEP 5: CONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY

Box User’s Guide for GROOV AT1

a.
Connect an Ethernet cable from ETH0 to your computer’s network.
NOTE: Opto 22 recommends connecting ETH0 to a network with DHCP and DNS services. If you do not
have these services, you’ll need to manually configure networking. See
.
b.
The two independent Ethernet connectors (ETH0 and ETH1) have separate IP addresses that
can be used to segment a control system’s network from the enterprise LAN. If your controller,
ModbusTCP device, or OPC UA server is on a different network than your computer, connect
ETH0 to your computer's network and ETH1 to the other network.
If you are using both ETH0 and ETH1, make sure they have IP addresses on different subnets. In
some situations, this may require configuring a static IP address. Otherwise there may be
communication errors. For more information, see
“Assigning a Static IP Address” on page 22
For detailed information on setting up your network and setting up communications over the
Internet, see

Guide to Networking Opto 22 Products

Step 5: Connect the Power Supply
Your
groov
Box requires a power supply with an output of 14-36 VDC, 24 VDC @ 1 amp. You can use
the power supply that comes with the
groov
Box, or provide your own. In either case, we
recommend using a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for backup power and surge protection.
If you are using the power supply that came with the
groov
Box, do the following:
Plug the small connector on the power supply into the terminal marked 14–36 VDC, tighten the
screws. Plug the other end into a standard 120 or 240 VAC outlet. The LED marked PWR will light
solid green.
If you are using your own power supply, do the following:
a.
With the power supply off or unplugged, connect the + (positive) lead from the power supply
(normally red) to the + (positive) terminal on the power connector.
