5.12 How to partition the EB16-SMART
1. Connect Ethernet cable to EB16 RJ45 port
2. Connect the other end of Ethernet cable to laptop or computer
3. Plug in the power cable to EB16 power supply receptacle.
a.
Do not turn ON the EB16 unit yet, leave the unit on standby mode.
4. Turn ON laptop or computer, launch the internet browser, preferably use Google Chrome or Firefox.
5. Type 192.168.1.10. (IP Address) on the internet browser, then press enter, an authentication login window will prompt to
enter user name and password.
Username: default
Password: OSS
6. If you are unable to access the IO Manager console via the web browser using 192.168.1.10, you must configure your
computer’s network setting to correlate to the default IP address of the expansion chassis. Go to 'Configure Network Setting"
page.
7. Click / Select "Slot Config" tab.
8. Select the configuration you would like to use. Then click “Save". It will take about 10 to 30 seconds for saved configuration to
take effect. NOTE: There are three configurations to choose. Configuration 1 is the default setting.
9. Refresh the browser, click / select "Slot Config" tab, check if the new configuration is ready.
10. Next is to check the PCIe Info. Upon changing the “partition configuration”, it will update your PCIe info setting. To verify, click
/ select PCIe Info tab, the setting should be updated.
11. Disconnect the power cord from the back of EB16. The unit must be completely OFF prior to installing the expansion interface
cards and PCIe cards.
12. Install or plug in the expansion interface cards to their designated slot.
a.
For configuration 1: The expansion interface card is already installed in slot 0
b. For Configuration 2: Add the 3 expansion interface cards. Install interface card in slot#3, slot#6 and slot#9. Slot 0 should
already have an expansion interface card.
c. For Configuration 3: Add the 3 expansion interface cards. Install expansion interface card in slot#4, slot#8 and slot#12.
Slot 0 should already have an expansion interface card.
13. Install your PCIe cards to available slots.
14. Connect the link cable to each interface card. Plug in the other end of the link cable to host computer.
15. Plug in the power to EB16.
16. Power UP or turn ON the EB16 unit, then power UP your host computers
