Changing the Lithium Backup Battery

A lithium battery is used in the NT20M and in the NT2000M. If the BAT LOW
indicator on the front panel lights, replace the battery within ten days.

Replacement time

Within 5 minutes from the time power is turned off.

Replacing the Battery

1, 2, 3... 1.

Turn the power off. If the power has not been on, turn it on for at least
one minute and then turn it off again before replacing the battery.

2.

Take off the battery cover on the back of the PT.

3.

Remove the battery from the connector and put in a new battery. Be
sure that the connector is straight when inserted.

Note a) Do not take more than five minutes to replace the battery, other-

wise the internal memory may be lost.

b) The battery can be replaced with the PT turned on, in which case

there is no limitation for battery replacement time.

Caution Be sure not to touch the internal circuitry when replacing the battery with the

PT turned on, otherwise the internal circuitry may be short-circuited or an
electric shock accident may result.

Replace the cover.

Caution The lithium battery can explode if placed into a fire, or it can explode, burn, or

leak if the + and – terminals are short-circuited or if the battery is recharged
or dismantled. Handle the battery with care.

Note If no battery is connected, BAT LOW indicator operation is not stable.
