There are two different types of serial port configuration menus in the unit. The first menu type is
held by port one as well as three and four, if installed. The second menu type is that of port two.
This menu has all of the same basic options as that of port one, as well as some extra options
pertaining to the flexible functionality of port two. This next display is that of port one.

B) Data Format [8N1]
C) Handshaking [XON/XOFF]
D) Wrap Around [OFF]
E) Time Stamping [OFF]
F) Serial Stamping [OFF]
G) Character Masking [ON]
H) Data Alarm Enable [NONE]
I) Also Store Alarms to Alarm File [OFF]
Baud Rate
brings up the selection menu for baud rates available for the port. These values range
from 300 baud to 19200 baud.
Data Format
displays the selection menu for word length, parity, and stop bit settings. The
available options are: 8N1, 7E1, 7N1, and 7O1.
Handshaking
is a toggle item with the following options: DTR, Xon/Xoff, none, and both.
Wrap Around
configures whether or not the newest data received on the port will overwrite the
oldest in the event that the file reaches its capacity.
Time Stamping
adds the date and time received to each record as it arrives within the unit.
Serial Stamping
toggles the adding of a ten-place serial number to the beginning of each record
received. This number is preserved through both the CLEAR and ZERO commands.
Character Masking
toggles character masking on the port. The character mask allows an admin
to block most non-printing ASCII characters. Specifically, the following ASCII character values
are blocked: 0, 1, 4-9, 11, 12, 14-31, and 128-255. For specific character information, refer to
Appendix A.
Data Alarm Enable
is a toggles which, if any, data alarm family to monitor the port with. The
options available are “None”, “1”, and “2”. For further information, refer to Chapter 5,
Programming Data Alarms.
Also Store Alarms to Alarm File
controls whether or not data alarms detected should be logged
to the alarm file, in addition to the data file.
