Manual Override

Introduction

In the event of a hospital electrical power failure or an extended power outage, all Omnicell
cabinets can be opened with a

manual override

mechanism. A series of locks, levers and linkages

provide access to the supply doors, pharmacy drawers and pharmacy drawer bins.

Manual records must be kept when using the manual override system as no power is being
supplied to the Omnicell cabinet.

This chapter provides the removal procedure. Installation can be done by performing the removal
procedure in reverse order.

Tools List

The following tools are required to install or remove a manual override:



Torx T15 screwdriver



Torx T20 screwdriver

Removal Procedure

1. Perform a graceful shutdown of the CT PC Box.

2. Remove the

manual override cove

r on the pharmacy drawers.

3. Remove all of the drawers in the pharmacy carrier.
