Introduction
Switchpanels
Introduction
Switchpanels are located in four places on Omnicell units: on a shelf, in a supply drawer or pull-
out shelf, on a suture rack and on a catheter rack. The switchpanels, commonly referred to as
button bars, are used to aid in the identification of specific items in a dispenser unit. When a user
selects an item from the dispenser unit, the LEDs on the switchpanel light up and indicate the
location of the product.
The switchpanels can be removed and relocated with the corresponding shelf, drawer or rack and
can be re-used from one shelf to another similar shelf or from one drawer to another drawer.
However, a switchpanel cannot be moved from a shelf to a catheter rack or from a drawer to a
shelf. Each switchpanel is designed to work with one storage type only.
This chapter provides the removal procedure. Installation can be done by performing the removal
procedure in reverse order.
