Loading the Materials
Before starting to print, load the appropriate material (filament) into the appropriate print heads.
For the first start of the printer, we recommend using ABS-42 for the left head and HIPS-20 for the
right head. When using the indicated filaments, there is the lowest risk of non-standard deviations in
the printout, which results in a better reflection of the print quality during the test.
Turn on the printer, then use the LCD screen to go to the MECHANICS tab and then to FILAMENT.
After activating the appropriate tab, a list of available procedures will appear, find and run the Left /
Right Extruder Load procedure, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Figure 17 Filament-related procedures
Below is a detailed description of the filament loading procedure.
1.
A) To load the filament in the left head, place the filament spool on the left filament hanger and
then insert the material through the left material presence sensor.
B) To load the filament in the right head, place the filament spool on the right filament hanger
and then insert the material through the right material presence sensor.
2.
Run the Left / Right Extruder Load procedure for the left or right head, respectively.
3.
Wait for the printer to warm up the corresponding head.
4.
Push the filament to the appropriate extruder until it stops, if the filament is pulled in by the
extruder rack, the loading process was successful, if not - repeat the process by clicking the
appropriate button on the display.
5.
If the extruded material is visible inside the printer, confirm the correct filament loading process
on the LCD screen.
6.
Repeat the process for the other head.
