7.2 Replacing the O-ring
Apply silicon grease to the spare O-ring that comes with the optical adapter and replace it.
You should periodically replace the O-ring.
The position to attach the O-ring differs between 6-mm type and 4-mm type.
Refer to "2.2 Distal end/optical adapter nomenclature" (P. 11) and "Attaching the optical adapter" (P. 15),
and attach the O-ring at the correct position.
7.1 Replacing the battery
Though the battery life depends on the operating environment and frequency of use, replacement
of the battery is recommended whenever the battery operation time becomes very short.
Contact Olympus about changing the battery.
For details about how to load and remove the battery, see "Using the battery" (P. 13).
7.3 Cleaning components

Clean the insertion tube immediately after withdrawing the insertion tube. Leaving the insertion tube very
dirty for long periods can cause it to become corroded.
Cleaning the insertion tube
Dirt or other foreign matter on the insertion tube
Wipe with a clean soft cloth.
Dirty water, machine oil, or other liquid on the insertion tube
Do not use a hard cloth or hard brush, but wipe with a soft cloth or cotton swab, and then wash
thoroughly with a piece of gauze or other material moistened with a neutral detergent. Next, use a
clean, soft piece of soft gauze moistened with clean water, and then wipe the insertion tube dry of
all moisture.
