To load a sample into a 

sample

 cell

1.

Connect the external shaker plug to the External Shaker connector on the rear 
panel (see Figure 3-13 on page 43).

Insert the sample carrier into the external shaker and gradually load a small 
amount of material (enough to fill the gap created by the spacer) into the side A 
cell assembly (see Figure 3-14 on page 44).
The material should be approximately 50 mg of coarsely ground (100–150 µm) 
powder.
