Fill the ground circuit with mixture of ethanol and water, which contains 28 percentage
by weight ethanol. The freezing point must be at least of −17 °C.
Filling vessel volume must be at least 100 litres in order to separate air bubbles from
the liquid. This prevents bubbles from re-entering the circulation through the filling
hose.
Use an efficient filter on the filter pump’s suction pipe to catch
any waste coming from the brine circuit piping.

1. Connect two hoses and a filling pump to valves 1 and 2 as in the figure above.
2. Open valves 1 and 2.
3. Close valves 3 and 4.
4. Start filling pump (B) and fill the circuit.
The circuit begins to fill with brine. Wait until the circuit is filled and air ceases to
be released from the return pipe.
5. Close valves 1 and 2.
6. Disconnect the hoses and the filling pipe.
7. Install an expansion tank (C) and pressurize the circuit.
Leave ground circuit over-pressured so that piping is not under-pressured at any
point. Recommended over-pressure is 1 – 1,5 bar.
8. Open valves 3 and 4.
If electrical connections have been made, ground circulation pump can be operated
with a separate switch before starting heat pump as follows:
1. Start the ground circuit pump manually.
Turn on main switch Q1 and ground circulation pump fuse F3 , and start ground
circulation pump using switch
S3
.
2. Make sure that pump starts to circulate fluid.
If the brine level in the expansion tank decreases during operation, there is still air
in the system. Add brine to the circuit if necessary.
3. Check the brine temperature.
If the brine temperature does not decrease, it indicates that there is still air in the
circuit. Keep pumping brine through the circuit until no more air escapes into the
expansion tank and the brine temperature begins to decrease.
4. Switch off the brine circuit pump (switch 3).
