2. Lift off the lid and remove the rubber gasket. Put the rubber gasket back again and make
sure it is in correct position. Use the markings to make the lid and body handles align
properly and close the lid.
It happens:
Steam is constantly escaping from the safety valve.
Possible reason:
1. The pressure in the cooker is excess as the vent pipe is damaged or the regulator is not
clean.
2. The safety valve sealing ring is worn out or damaged.
3. The safety valve sealing ring is not at the right position.
Solution:
1. Turn off the heat immediately, release the steam and open the pressure cooker after it
is completely decompressed. Clean the pressure regulator and vent pipe as instructed
in “Cleaning and maintenance” and check if any parts are damaged. If there is no visible
damage, close the lid and continue cooking.
2. Replace the safety valve sealing ring. The sealing ring counts as wear parts and is not
covered by the warranty. These parts can be ordered from OBH Nordica spare parts 08-445
79 00.
3. Turn off the heat immediately, release the steam and open the pressure cooker after it is
completely decompressed. Fit the sealing ring around the groove in the safety valve.
It happens:
If the rubber gasket extrudes through the safety vent on the lid.
Possible reason:
1. The rubber gasket is worn.
2. Over high pressure is used.
Solution:
1. Replace the rubber gasket. The rubber gasket counts as wear parts and is not covered by
the warranty. These parts can be ordered from OBH Nordica spare parts 08-445 79 00.
2. Remove the pressure cooker from the heating source immediately. Release the pressure
and open the lid. Check if anything is blocking the working valve or the safety valve. Retry
to build pressure. If the rubber gasket is extruding again, stop using the pressure cooker.
Return the pressure cooker to the store of purchase.
