Complete control description
Main view
Read
Reads the current cleaver settings (e.g. tension, position etc.) from the cleaver selected in the GUI. This information should normally
be automatically updated when the cleaver is connected to the PC.
Write
Writes the settings (e.g. tension, position etc.) selected in the GUI to the AUTOCLEAVER. This button is normally greyed out, until any
setting has been changed (then it activates) and need to be pressed to update the AUTOCLEAVER.
File menu
Select COM Port
Shows available COM ports and lets you select one.
Exit
Exits the application.
View menu
Show fiber clamp position
Activates the position dialog box in the GUI. When activated, the value entered in the dialog box will change the cleave length (make
it longer) by up to +500 µm.
Get position of last cleaving
Reads the position offset achieved during the last cleave (successful or failed). This value indicates how far the tensioning motor was
running (from the clamp position) to stretch the fiber, i.e. just before the fiber broke (or any other failure). If this value varies (for one
kind of fiber) it indicates in principle that the cleave length also varies by the corresponding distance.
Get tension of last cleaving
Reads the tension achieved during the last cleave (successful or failed). This value indicates the actual force that the fiber was tensioned
to when cleaved, i.e. just before the fiber broke (or any other failure).
If the cleave failed, the value is the maximum force that was
applied.
Unit menu
N
Select Newton (N) as unit in the application.
g
Select gram (g) as unit in the application.
Service menu
Skip to next diamond level
Raises the cleaver blade to the next position. In total there are 27 positions of the blade available with the AUTOCLEAVER LDF TM .
Back to previous diamond level
Lowers the blade to the previous blade position.
Reset diamond level
Resets the cleaver blade to the first position of the blade. This is done when the diamond blade has been replaced with a new one, or
to re-use the blade in previous positions (not recommended).
Empty fiber waste collector bin
Resets the waste collector bin counter. This is done when the collector bin has been emptied or replaced with a new one. Also see
