Installing/Removing a Flash Module
Prior to installing the 16 MB Flash Module, ensure that the write protect switch is
in the operating position (write protect switch OFF). Refer to the illustration
below for this setting.
As a safety precaution, the Passport 4460 is designed to reject a Flash module that
is not inserted properly. If not inserted properly, the Flash eject button will not pop
out, which is an indication that a connection has not been made. Reposition or flip
the module over and then try again. Do not force the module into the connector.
Caution:
Do not remove or insert a Flash module when the indicator
light is showing a solid yellow or solid green (see
), as this could
cause damage to the equipment. The indicator means that the unit is
performing a read or write function.
Caution:
If the Flash Module write protect switch is ON, the
Passport 4460 will be inoperable at power up or after any reset.
