After the modules are in place and the system is operating, refer to the software 
documentation for configuration information (see 

“Product documentation” on 

page 17

).

Serial Module

The Serial Module provides additional port capability, identical to Port 1 on the 
base module. The module’s 50-pin connector supports RS-232/V.24, V.35, V.36, 
and X.21 interfaces, depending on the cable used. The module can support both 
DTE and DCE modes. Both Port 2 and Port 3 can support the Serial Module.

The Serial Module must be inserted into the unit with the component side up.

Note: 

Pin assignments and configuration information are the same as for 

the Serial Port located on the Passport 4460 Base Module. This 
information is located in Chapter 7 of this manual.
