External Optical Extension Installation

The external fiber-optic cable (the patch cord or extension cable) acts as a link between the external

EasyThrough connectors and the EasyGrid. The total length of the sensor cable plus the extension cable

can be up to 1000 m due to the tremendous dynamic range of the Nortech EasyGrid. This allows

installation of the electronics at the most advantageous location.

To route the cable, you may use existing electrical conduits. The presence of an electric field does not

affect the operation of the temperature sensor.

Since long-term exposure to sun, rain and dust may cause premature aging, protecting cables from the

elements is recommended.
