Troubleshooting
WARNING:
Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks.
Follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related
documentation.
These troubleshooting procedures cover only the most common problems.
If the problem cannot be solved with the information given here, contact a
local Nordson representative for help.
Problem
Possible Cause
Corrective Action
1. Air motor does not
work.
No air supply, inadequate air
supply.
Check the air supply and operating
pressure.
NOTE:
Refer to the
Rhino
SD2/XD2 Pumps
manual
for location of the
components referenced in
these procedures.
Blocked hydraulic system.
Check hoses, applicators, and other
components in the hydraulic system.
Air motor regulator malfunction.
Check the air motor regulator and
replace if necessary.
Pivot valve not functioning.
Perform the following:
1. Disconnect the signal and output
air lines from the pilot valves.
2. Actuate the valve to verify that the
pneumatic signal is present.
Replace the pilot valve if the
pneumatic signal is not present.
Intermediate valve not functioning.
Perform the following:
1. Lock out the air supply to the
drum unloader.
2. Disconnect the signal and output
air lines from the intermediate
valve.
3. Connect an air gauge at the end
of each line.
4. Turn on the air supply to the air
motor. Manually cycle the
intermediate valve.
5. Verify that the pneumatic signal is
alternating between the air
gauges. Replace the
intermediate valve if the
pneumatic signal does not
alternate between the air gauges.
